Finally, for the first time since 2004, John Daly was showered with alcohol for winning a golf tournament. I’m sure he has been showered in alcohol since then, but not for winning.

Daly won the Insperity Classic at The Woodlands Country Club in The Woodlands, TX by shooting a final round 69 finishing up at -14. He just edged out Kenny Perry and Tommy Armour III.
With his win, Daly becomes the 12th member of PGA TOUR Champions to have won on all three Tours.
Daly closed out the tournament in true Daly fashion playing the last three hole +3 and making things interesting.
“It wasn’t pretty at the end, but I got it done. That’s all that matters.” Daly said after his round.
This could be the first win of many for Daly on the PGA TOUR Champions.
It is something to watch and look forward to as the PGA TOUR Champions makes its way to Peabody, MA this summer as they host the US Senior Open at the Salem Country Club.
Daly hasn’t committed just yet but you have to believe the legend will be competing there this year. But the golfers that have already committed include, Davis Love III, Fred Couples, Fred Funk, Rocco Mediate and the legendary Bernhard Langer.
With the monkey finally off his back, Daly is looking to be in the winners circle a lot more in 2017.
“It’s really cool and hopefully I can keep this confidence going.” Daly said about finally earning a win after a year on the PGA TOUR Champions.
Although this circuit doesn’t get much exposure, be sure to be on the lookout for Daly on leaderboards for the rest of 2017.
