Salem Country Club in Peabody, MA was the host of this years U.S. Senior Open. Travelers Championship Picks

Who’s Going To Make The Cut? Now that the U.S. Open is over, the next tournament on the docket is in our backyard – The Travelers Championship. This year’s field is loaded with studs, which means it’s time for my predictions. Like last weeks U.S. Open, I’m making three picks: My “Well Duh” pick, my “Dark horse” pick, and last, but certainly not least, my “Wilfore have you ever watched golf before?” pick. 1. Well Duh = Bubba Watson He is at TPC River Highlands almost every year. He knows the course like the back of his hand and probably…

Should You Get Golf Lessons?

Some people have golfed their whole lives. Some pick up the game after their collegiate sporting career is over. Others pick it up as a hobby. One thing in common with every golfer is that they learned how to swing a golf club somehow. At a young age you may have gone to clinics or signed up for golf lessons. When you pick up the game later in life, you may just teach yourself. So what is the best way? Go to a PGA pro and pay to learn the game? Or… Swing the club the way you think you…

You have a nice look at birdie, and you turn that circle on the scorecard to a square. Never good. Here are three drills to help avoid three putting. “Ring” drill: next time you practice putting, take four tees, and place them a couple feet from the hole creating four points. Drop balls on the practice green anywhere from 15 to 40 feet. The goal of this drill is to not make the first putt, but to putt the ball…

How Important Are The Grips On Your Clubs?

Something that is a huge part of your clubs, but often overlooked, are the grips – the pieces of rubber at the end that you touch every time you pick up the club. Because these get so much use, they are vital to your golf game. You want them to be in good condition, so nothing goes wrong. Here are some tips to determine whether you need to re-grip a club, or all of them: No Grip. Some people try to save money by using athletic tape over what used to be the grip. Don’t be cheap. Why Does Jordan Spieth Struggle At TPC Sawgrass Every Year?

This year marks the third year in a row one of the worlds best golfers will miss the cut at The Players at TPC Sawgrass. But oddly enough he made a charge his rookie season, to win on Sunday. But he fell short. Why does a golfer, this good, struggle at this course? Well this year it was putting. Around the green Spieth was terrible. He hit a chip shot on Friday that went two inches, and then hit the identical shot next and sunk it. After renovations to the course this past year, Spieth and many other golfers have…
